ClickMimic — Frequently Asked Questions
This FAQ explains how ClickMimic works, what you need to run it, how licensing, trials and support work, and how we think about compliance with brokers and prop firms. Nothing here is legal, financial, investment, or tax advice. You are always responsible for following the terms, rules and regulations of your brokers, prop firms and your local jurisdiction.

You run an MT5 EA on a “source” MT5 account. That EA writes every trade and
modification
into a lightweight .txt signal file on
your machine or VPS.
ClickMimic watches this file and, when it detects a new instruction,
it uses desktop automation to click in your target platform’s UI
(for example xStation, cTrader Web, or another MT5 terminal with Algo Trading
OFF)
to reproduce the same trade as closely as possible.
On the source side, ClickMimic works with MT5 via our dedicated EA
that writes trades into a .txt signal
file.
On the target side, our initial public versions focus on:
- MT5 with Algo Trading OFF
- XTB xStation
- cTrader Web
Support for additional platforms may be added in the future, but is not guaranteed and has no fixed timeline.
In general, you need:
- A Windows PC or VPS
- An MT5 terminal with our EA that writes trades into a
.txtsignal file - At least one target platform (for example xStation, cTrader Web, or MT5 with Algo Trading OFF) installed or running in a browser
- A stable internet connection
- Enough screen space so the target platform window can stay visible during mirroring
Yes, but calibration matters. ClickMimic relies on your screen geometry, scaling, window positions and sometimes color/shape recognition.
We recommend:
- Keeping Windows display scaling at 100% for the monitor where the target platform runs
- Not resizing or moving the calibrated windows during live mirroring
- Using the built-in calibration and pre-flight checks whenever you significantly change resolution, scaling, layouts or monitors
You don’t have to recalibrate for every tiny change, but any significant modification to window layout, platform theme, resolution, DPI or zoom can break the assumptions ClickMimic uses.
As a rule of thumb:
- If you move or resize the target platform area where ClickMimic clicks → recalibrate.
- If you switch monitors or change scaling/zoom → recalibrate.
We provide calibration and pre-flight checks to help you verify that anchors and buttons are correctly detected before you go live.
Our licensing is primarily device-oriented. A typical license is tied to one user and a limited number of machines/devices, rather than to a specific broker account or EA.
In practice, this usually means you can use multiple trading accounts and EAs from the same licensed device, within fair-use limits. For precise rules, always refer to the current pricing page and Terms of Service.
Because ClickMimic is downloadable software used in a technical trading environment, refunds are not “no-questions-asked”.
- We do not offer refunds simply because trading results differ from your expectations.
- If there is a proven technical issue that prevents you from using ClickMimic as advertised and our support cannot resolve it within a reasonable timeframe, we may offer a refund in line with our Refund Policy.
The full, legally binding rules are described in our Terms of Service and any specific Refund / Cancellation sections.
We strongly recommend:
- Starting on demo accounts or very small risk on your own personal live account.
- Running ClickMimic in dry-run / safe modes (if available), to visualize clicks without sending real orders.
- Verifying that order types, lot sizes, SL/TP and key actions (open / modify / close) are mirrored correctly before using larger size or funded capital.
Using ClickMimic on large or funded accounts without careful testing is entirely at your own risk.
We provide:
- Written guides and FAQs on our website
- In-app tips, pre-flight checks and calibration wizards
- Email support for installation, licensing and basic configuration issues
We cannot take responsibility for your overall trading setup, prop firm choices, broker selection, or risk management. In some cases, at our discretion, we may offer limited 1-to-1 help for complex technical issues, but this is not guaranteed.
You can send both to [email protected] .
Whenever possible, please include:
- A clear description of the problem or requested feature
- Screenshots or short videos
- Logs generated by ClickMimic (if relevant)
This helps us understand and reproduce the situation much faster.
ClickMimic operates as quickly as your system allows, but it will never be as fast as a direct broker-side API or server-side integration.
In practice, latency is usually in the range of milliseconds to a few seconds, depending on:
- Your PC or VPS performance
- How busy the system is
- Internet latency and platform responsiveness
- The complexity of UI actions required for a given order
ClickMimic is not designed for ultra-high-frequency trading.
If your machine, VPS or connection fails:
- Your MT5 EA may continue to act on the source account (depending on where it runs).
- ClickMimic will stop mirroring trades into your target platform until it is back online.
- Your source and target accounts can become out of sync.
You are responsible for monitoring your accounts and managing risk in case of outages. ClickMimic cannot guarantee perfect synchronization during or after connectivity issues.
ClickMimic is a local desktop automation tool. It does not modify broker or prop firm servers, inject code into their infrastructure or directly interfere with their risk systems.
However, the fact that a tool is technically possible does not mean it is permitted under any particular broker’s or prop firm’s terms and conditions. We do not and cannot state whether your specific use of ClickMimic is permitted, prohibited or tolerated by any given provider.
For the avoidance of doubt: we make no representation or warranty that the use of ClickMimic is compliant with the rules of any broker, prop firm, exchange or other institution. You must obtain your own legal and/or compliance advice where appropriate and you remain solely responsible for ensuring that your use of ClickMimic is permitted.
No. ClickMimic is not offered, marketed or intended as a mechanism to conceal algorithmic trading, mislead brokers or prop firms, or create the impression that trades are “manual” where they are not. It simply automates the same type of UI actions a human could perform on their own screen.
We expressly disclaim any suggestion that ClickMimic should be used to circumvent, evade or misrepresent compliance with any broker or prop firm rules. Whether any given provider classifies your activity as manual, semi-automated or automated is entirely their decision and remains outside of our control.
No. Under no circumstances do we guarantee, promise or represent that any broker or prop firm currently permits, will permit in the future, or will continue to permit the use of ClickMimic or any similar tool.
Brokers and prop firms may:
- Limit or prohibit certain tools, trade patterns or behaviours;
- Change their terms, rules and internal policies at any time, with or without notice;
- Refuse service, close accounts or cancel payouts if they believe their rules were breached.
Any decision to use ClickMimic with a particular provider is made entirely at your own risk.
You are solely and entirely responsible for verifying whether your use of ClickMimic complies with all applicable terms, rules and regulatory requirements of your brokers, prop firms and any other relevant parties.
We are not a law firm, compliance consultancy or risk adviser. We do not review, interpret or monitor individual providers’ rulebooks on your behalf and we are not a party to the contractual relationship between you and your providers.
If you are unsure whether ClickMimic is permitted in your specific situation, you must seek clarification directly from your provider and/or obtain independent professional advice.
No. ClickMimic is not designed, marketed or supported as a tool to bypass, weaken or circumvent daily loss limits, drawdown rules, trading windows, news filters or any other risk controls imposed by brokers or prop firms.
All such limits and rules remain fully in force and you are responsible for complying with them. Any attempt to use ClickMimic in order to defeat or evade risk controls is a misuse of the software and is undertaken entirely at your own risk and responsibility.
ClickMimic does not identify itself to your broker or prop firm as “ClickMimic” and does not run on their servers. It operates only on your own machine or VPS.
However, providers are generally free to monitor and analyse trading behaviour, including timing, frequency and pattern of orders. They may reach their own conclusions as to whether trading activity is manual, semi-automated or automated, regardless of how it appears on your screen.
You should assume that your trading activity can be monitored and reviewed. We cannot control, influence or predict how any specific provider will classify or respond to your trading.
Unless expressly stated otherwise on our website in writing, we do not have any formal endorsement, approval, sponsorship or partnership from any broker, prop firm or similar institution.
Any reference to a particular broker or prop firm is for descriptive purposes only and does not imply that such entity approves of, endorses, recommends or has reviewed ClickMimic or any specific use case.
Some users choose to describe tools like ClickMimic in neutral technical terms, for example as:
“A local desktop tool that reads trades from my own MT5 EA and automates the same clicks on another platform on my machine or VPS.”
We do not recommend or script your communication with brokers or prop firms. What you disclose and how you describe your setup is entirely your decision and your responsibility, and you should consider obtaining independent advice if in doubt.
No. We explicitly do not represent that using ClickMimic will lower the risk of account closures, rule violations, clawbacks, payout refusals or any other enforcement action by brokers or prop firms.
Your providers retain full discretion to enforce their rules. You may still be warned, restricted, closed or denied payouts even if you use ClickMimic exactly as described in our documentation.
We cannot give you legal advice and we do not monitor the laws and regulations of every country or region. In many jurisdictions it is generally lawful to run automation software on your own computer, but the legal position can depend on the exact use case, licensing requirements and local rules.
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of ClickMimic complies with all applicable laws, regulations, licensing regimes and contractual obligations. If you are unsure, you should obtain advice from a qualified lawyer or other professional adviser.
ClickMimic runs on your local machine and interacts with your local platforms. We do not need your broker or prop firm passwords to operate, and we do not log into your accounts on your behalf.
Some technical information (for example license data, anonymized usage metrics or error reports) may be sent to our servers, but ClickMimic is not designed as a remote account viewer for your full trading history.
We may collect, for example:
- License and activation information
- Basic technical data (e.g. app version, OS version, generic diagnostics)
- Optional error reports or crash dumps when you choose to send them
We do not intentionally collect your raw passwords or broker login details. For full details, always read our Privacy Policy.
